Beer Brewing for Beginners
Using an infinite variety of ingredients and processes, humans have been brewing beer for 10,000 years. Until recently, beer was a distinctly local product, relying on ingredients grown on the farm or foraged nearby. It was inherently seasonal in nature.
While modern brewing can be quite technical and require specific equipment, the fundamentals of brewing are accessible to everybody.
To tap into beer’s long history, this class features a sturdy winter beer full of ingredients common to Northern Minnesota.
Together, we will:
– Brew. We’ll make one gallon of beer, which you can replicate at home.
– Bottle. We’ll prime the beer for carbonation and transfer it to glass bottles.
A variety of home-brewed beers will be available for sampling throughout the class.
