General Public Show: Light Years from Andromeda

A beam of light leaves the Andromeda Galaxy and arrives at Earth over 2 million years later. Follow the light beam as it travels through intergalactic space and discover how vast the space is between galaxies. Learn about the history of humanity and how astronomy developed in the amount of time it took the light beam to reach us. “Light Years From Andromeda is a story of cosmic distances, and humanity’s quest to understand the universe. Take a journey of epic proportions across space and time!” Narrated by Michael Dorn.

Each show will be followed by a live presentation of Tonight’s Sky.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.
Planetarium staff kindly request all guests wear a mask while in the planetarium
There is no food or drinks allowed in the planetarium.
Please have proof of purchase ready to show at the door.
UMD students will also be required to show their Student ID.

$5 Adults (age 13-59)
$3 Seniors (age 60+), Kids (age 6-12), UMD Students
Kids 5 and under are free
