Based in the Twin Cities, Katy Tessman has roots in Northern Minnesota; raised by educators, her summers growing up were spent in the forests and lakes of the arrowhead. In celebration of Katy’s new album, she is touring Minnesota this fall, including a stop at Wussow’s Concert Cafe.
Katy Tessman soars to new heights with her eagerly awaited album releasing on October 14. This collection of songs weave a tapestry of uplifting melodies and heartfelt ballads, resonating with themes of self-discovery and resilience. Tonight, she will be joined by her son Louis “Sweet Lou” Tessman Stanoch on lead guitar.
Katy curated a special showcase featuring three other talented Minnesota musicians. The evening promises to be a wonderful opportunity to experience unique creativity, captivating stories, and heartfelt music.
NIKKI LEMIRE
Artfully blending folk traditions with innovative modern pedal harp effects and expressive vocals, Nikki Lemire is breaking the singer-songwriter mold. Growing up in Duluth, Nikki studied harp with her mother; she now lives in Minneapolis with her husband and three daughters. In addition to her solo songwriting, Nikki is a member of The Foxgloves and Josh Cleveland Band.
DOYLE TURNER
Doyle Turner is a Northern Minnesota singer/songwriter who mixes elements of folk, rock, and Americana into songs that seek connection. Growing up on the White Earth Nation, he is a proud Anishinaabe person. Firmly rooted in Cash and Kristofferson, Doyle’s songs feature lyrics that find you where you are with a warm voice that guides you back home. JANE AAS
As a Duluth based singer/songwriter, Jane has been singing, writing songs, playing guitar and performing with her band ‘Janie and The Spokes’ in the region for the past 15 years. Jane finds inspiration for songwriting from her surroundings in northern MN especially Lake Superior. Jane released an album with her band in Spring of ‘23 and is actively recording her next album.
