Practicing yoga in alignment with the phases of the moon can be a powerful way to connect with nature’s rhythms. Each phase of the moon represents a different energy that will guide our practice throughout the month. Each week will be a little different and tailored to the phase of the moon.
New Moon – Grounding and meditative, the new moon is symbolic of new beginnings and our innate potential. This will be a gentle practice with some gentle and restorative poses. (October 1st)
Waxing Moon – Growth, energy and building momentum. This week will be a hatha yoga practice. Think more energy, sun salutations, etc. (October 8th – no class)
Full Moon – A time of heightened energy and emotions. This week will embrace the full moon energy, but also focus on grounding practices to balance out the full moon. Think slow flow and moon salutations as well as other grounding poses. (October 15th)
Waning Moon – A time of release, reflection and letting go. The focus this week will be a gentle & restorative style practice. (October 22nd – no class, class resumes October 29th)
