Are you injury prone or just want to know how to stay injury free as a runner? Then this is the class for you!
Led by Ann Farley, Doctor of Physical Therapy, PT, & Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist at the Center for Muscle & Joint Therapy, you will learn from a physical therapist who is trained to work specifically with runners!
CLASS OVERVIEW:
Step Ahead: Injury Prevention for Runners is an introductory class designed to equip runners of all levels with the knowledge and strategies necessary to minimize the risk of injuries this training season. This class combines evidence-based research with clinical insights on why injuries occur, how to minimize them, and when runners should implement these strategies.
This class will explore topics including common causes and types of running injuries, prevention strategies centered around strength training, footwear variability, and custom orthotics, as well as early warning signs of potential injuries and how to address them proactively.
A questions and answer session will occur immediately following the presentation.
