Come paddle with me! This summer we’ll be paddling at Fish Lake and Boulder Lake, 2 of my favorite places to paddle.
Please note, this is a bring your own paddle board or kayak excursion. I may have 1 or 2 extra kayaks, but please inquire before you sign up to find out if that is an option on the day you choose.
Embark on a paddling excursion across the pristine waters of a Northern Minnesota lake and you’ll find yourself immersed in a scene straight out of a postcard. Picture yourself setting out from a tranquil shoreline, your kayak or canoe slicing through the glassy surface of the water.
As you paddle, the rhythmic dip of your oar or paddle creates gentle ripples that dance away into the distance, blending seamlessly with the reflections of towering pine trees and rocky outcrops along the shoreline. The air is crisp and pure, scented with the fragrance of pine needles and the occasional hint of wildflowers.
Around you, the calls of loons echo across the lake, their haunting cries adding to the serene ambiance. Bald eagles may soar overhead, their keen eyes scanning the water for fish. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a family of otters playing near the reeds or a beaver silently gliding through the water, carrying branches to its lodge.
As you explore further, you may come across secluded bays and hidden inlets, each offering its own unique beauty and sense of tranquility. Here, you can pause to listen to the symphony of nature, the rustle of leaves in the breeze, the gentle lapping of waves against the shore, and the occasional splash of a fish breaking the surface.
With every stroke of your paddle, you feel a deep connection to the wilderness around you, a sense of peace and harmony that can only be found in the heart of Northern Minnesota. Whether you’re paddling for adventure, relaxation, or simply to soak in the beauty of nature, a paddling excursion on a Northern Minnesota lake is an experience you won’t soon forget.
Paddling will be about 2-3 hours with stops. Please keep your schedule flexible for the day, so you won’t feel rushed and can fully enjoy the time. I am not a professional guide and am only organizing this event for all to enjoy and as a means for folks to gather, meet new people and experience new places that you may not have otherwise gone on your own. 🙂

*Fish Lake Narrows – Meets at South DNR Boat Launch – Friday, June 21st (Summer Solstice and Full Moon!) – 5:30pm
*Fish Lake Narrows – Meets at South DNR Boat Launch – Sunday, July 21st – 10am
*Boulder Lake Dam – Saturday, August 17th – 10am
