WLSSD is throwing a party to celebrate the new Food Scraps Drop Site in Proctor, MN! Starting October 12th, we’ll have a food scraps cart (looks like a large garbage bin but has “food scraps only” decals on it) in the lot of our drop site host, Replay Workshop. Stop by during our party for a free countertop food scraps bucket and compostable bags—everything you need to start saving food scraps for the drop site. We’ll also have prizes and snacks!
Why does WLSSD have food scraps drop sites? Diverting food scraps from trash (that ends up in the landfill)) to be made into compost at WLSSD is good for the environment and can help reduce the volume and odor of your home trash. You can drop off food scraps in the cart at the drop site any time on or after October 12th. Learn more: https://wlssd.com/services/food-waste/drop-off-instructions/
Replay Workshop will also have an open house during the event so you can stop in and see how they turn traditionally non-recyclable plastics into board game pieces and other useful items! https://atlas-games.com/replay/
